Private, home like setting in Anderson’s oldest historical mansion. Owners do not occupy the Inn, so it’s like your “Home away from Home.” The feeling within the Inn is of peace and tranquility. Each room is decorated differently (something to please everyone) and each has its own bath facility.
Most Sincerely,
Myrna Ryter
Anderson’s 174 year old “Lady in Waiting”
We all have a beautiful, strong, and stately lady waiting for more people to acknowledge and enjoy her. She’s been around for almost 2 centuries and has the pride and grace only time gives to those that have weathered many storms. She’s waiting for others to partake in the splendor of eras long ago. Gaze at the extra wide and slightly crooked doorways. Extra wide so the ladies could swoosh through them with there full skirts. Study the hand carved spindles on the stairway and porch and notice the unevenness of their beautiful imperfections. No nails, strong wood pegs hold this beauty together.
Listen….you may hear the spirits of children playing on the stairway as many others have. But do not worry; the energy is friendly and divine.
Her wrap around porch will cradle you with delight as you wander around admiring the great trees, planted so many years ago. The “pencil pine” a huge and magnificent tree with its abstract, twisted, trunk…one could study for quite a while. The enormous Crepe Myrtle (perhaps the largest in our state) bursts forth in July and August with a hot pink display of breathtaking flowers.
The great holly tree …again one of the largest in the upstate. Dirt was brought in from the Savannah River elevating the property,
providing extra nourishment for the surrounding trees. The trees seem to cradle her with their love and protection.
What is this stately ladies name……..Evergreen. She’s an elegant Bed & Breakfast waiting to share her stature with you.
Spend the night and “go back in time”. A reminder of our great past… this wonderful, relaxing and peaceful place will feel like “your home away from home.” Top notch décor and extremely comfortable beds, private baths, and a delightful serve yourself continental breakfast to have whenever you decide to rise. Stroll next door to another gem….the “gone with the wind” antebellum mansion 101 years old. The brilliant tin and copper red roof and huge white columns command attention and respect having survived the turmoil of the past. A treat to cast ones eyes upon and an equal treat to partake in what’s inside this grand building. Kind, caring “Evergreen Day Spa” service providers will slow you down and release those tired muscles….. Leaving you rejuvenated down to the cellular level.
Partake in this explosion of enjoying and living life to its fullest!
Come see……come experience…….We’re here for you!
Most Sincerely,
Myrna & Evergreen Staff
Myrna Ryter and her deceased husband “Chef Peter” have been the proud “caretakers” of Evergreen since the early 1980’s. It was a challenge to renovate and maintain but through perseverance, the buildings are in their glory!
Thank you for your friendships, love, and continued support!
